Campers sign up for 2 camptivities, which they will stick with throughout the week they are here! Try Campers will get a limited selection of camptivities based on the number of spots an activity can hold.

Our camptivities change from week to week, and include some or all of the following:

Archery: Learn how to safely shoot a bow and arrow! Campers will work on improving their archery skills, learn archery safety, and play some archery games to test their skills.

Arts & Crafts: Let your creativity shine in the arts & crafts camptivity! Campers who sign up for this will get time to create their own artwork to take home as a souvenir. Tie Dye, friendship bracelets, painting, leather making, and DIY bird feeders are some of our many highlights in this activity.

Barn & Garden: Visit our Camp Shaw animals and get your hands dirty in our garden, helping to raise vegetables that might end up in your next meal in Tascher hall!

Challenge Course: Take part in our low ropes course and learn how to work better as a team. This camptivity will test campers’ communication skills, and allow them to try out our various obstacles that improve coordination, balance, and teamwork skills.

Dance: Get your groove on, learn new dances, and get ready for the Jamboree on the last night of camp.

Music: Come appreciate the beauty in music! In this camptivity, participants will get opportunities to learn instruments like guitar and ukulele, and practice improving musical skills like rhythm and creativity.

Nature: Explore the wonders of nature in this camptivity! Some of our common nature activities are going on hikes and learning the trails, building shelters in the forest, and identifying different animals and plants, especially those that are common at Camp Shaw.

Outdoor Living & Cooking: Take a chance to improve your outdoor skills! Campers often get the chance to learn how to safely build and put out fires, prepare and cook food outdoors, properly use a compass, and much more.

Photography: Capture the amazing beauty of Camp Shaw through the lens of a camera! Our photography program allows campers to learn more about different camera functions and participate in different photography activities to enhance their skills.

Recreation: Calling all team sports fans to this camptivity! Basketball, gaga ball, kickball are some of our more popular sports here at camp.

Theatre: Lights, camera, action! Our theatre camptivity provides campers opportunities to perform skits, play theatre games, and learn the art of improv.

Tool Time: Learn how to use certain tools while helping with various projects around camp, such as new campfire benches, bunk beds, and more!

Waterfront: Splish splash, Camp Shaw! Campers that love to swim can sign up for this activity and play water games, relay races, and also free swim. Those that do not sign up for this camptivity will still get opportunities to cool off in the pool and creek at other points of the day as well.


What other activities can campers look forward to?

Shared Experience Activities: Here at Camp Shaw, we want all of our campers to have the opportunity to try certain activities! Zip lining, creek time, fire building, and hiking are some of the highlights of our camp that we want each camper to be able to experience.

Free Choice Activities: Each day, campers will get to choose from a selection of free choice activities. Activities are different every day so campers will get to experience a variety of activities. This is a perfect opportunity to try out activities that are different than the camptivities campers signed up for!

Night Activities: Whole group night activities are a great way to end each day at camp. Campers can look forward to campfires, night swims, scary stories, various versions of hide & seek and tag, and more!
